EBOLA: Lagos Schools To Resume October 8

As against earlier reports today that schools are resuming tomorrow, 22nd of September, the Lagos state governor has announced a new date of resumption.

Nigerian schoolchildren, parents have been eagerly waiting for the decision

Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola made it known today at a stakeholders’ forum held this evening at the Lagos Television Blue Roof Agidingbi, Ikeja that all private and public schools in Lagos State will now resume on October 8, 2014.

Vanguard reports that the meeting was attended by headteachers and principals of schools in the state, making this information more valid.

The governor however explained in the forum the reasons why the date was shifted saying that the shift in date is to allow for adequate distribution of Ebola preventive materials in schools across the state. It would be recalled that as against recent reports on private and public schools in some parts of Nigeria resuming tomorrow, 22nd of September, confusion has been recorded in Kwara state over the resumption date.
